Reality Seems Like It's Breaking Apart

"heh, didja really think you would be able-"

From the corners of her gap, Yukari winced as the skeleton finally took a hit from the demon child. Red seeped out from the corners of his mouth, slowly also staining parts of his blue jacket.

"... ... ... so... guess that's it, huh? ... just... don't say i didn't warn you."

The sukima-onna had enough. With a wave of her fan, the once yellow-orange hallway slowly morphed into a dark, indigo abyss. Floating in the middle, the skeleton donned in red-stained blue jacket coughed.

"... heh. did yu-kari me?"

"... That wouldn't make any Sans now, would it? You're too fat for that."

"your jokes are really killing me right now."

"..."

"too soon?"

"..." Yukari knelt down and faced the dying skeleton, her purple eyes full of bitter acceptance.

"... This bounded field... it wont last much long." Yukari slowly explained, her eyes still glued to the blue ones in front of her.

"You've done well."

"thanks. coulda done without the whole dying thing."

Silence engulfed the two. Only the small coughs that escaped from Sans' mouth echoed in the dark abyss. Yukari shuffled closer, seemingly holding onto the jacket.

"keep it." Sans muttered before he slowly readjusted himself to remove the blue attire. Upon seeing the red stain, Sans muttered a quick apology before being cut off by Yukari.

"It's... a nice jacket."

"it's blue. and blue really suits you." Yukari barely muffled her laughter.

"Flirt."

"only you."

The room shook. Slowly, the dark abyss melted away back to the original orange hall.

The blond-lady held onto the jacket a lot tighter. Sans barely mumbled his last few words as he felt his energy, his soul slip away.

"welp. i'm going to grillby's."

Rage. Bitter, unending, unfathomable, anger began filling Yukari's thoughts.

How dare this... this human do this?

"... Shouldn't you ask your brother to come along?"

"nah. paps doesn't like grease."

"You should... get him something." Yukari shifted uncomfortably before speaking out an afterthought.

"It's the thought that counts, doesn't it?"

"... right. hey, papyrus, do you want anything?"

In a flash, all that was left is a blue jacket stained with red and a few dust.

Yukari opened a gap, neither smile nor frown covering her pale face.

The child skipped happily towards the end of the hall, grinning mad with power as they heard snippets of the god-forsaken skeleton's last words. With a soul full of determination, they entered the door to make their way towards the throne room--

or what was suppose to be the throne room. Rather than the golden flowers and the huge throne in the middle of the room, Chara was greeted instead with dozens, and dozens of red eyes staring creepily back. At the back of their head, they heard Frisk's cry of terror and the voice that helped them take over Frisk.

"She's Here."

Upon hearing that declaration, Chara felt their soul be pulled in a battle. The familiar screen showed up, only to see parts of it shatter and allowing them to stare at the eerie red eyes once again. Through the gap, they felt someone--something emerged.

"Are you satisfied, child? Seeing the limits of your powers, of your strength?" The lady dressed in what appears to be an elaborate dress began to speak, condescendingly. Chara noted with glee that on her waist is the familiar blue jacket a certain skeleton once wore.

'Serves him right for making me reload a ton. Good riddance--'

"Are you ready to go back and fix your mistakes?"

When Chara heard that, the voice prompted them to lunge after this mysterious lady without any warning. Chara was expecting to damage them but instead, a wall--"barrier"--of some kind stopped them.

Her once purple eyes flashed gold as she stared at this... worthless child in front of her.

"Unfortunately, I can not allow you to do what you please, to destroy this world and Gensokyo. You will have to be eliminated."

The lady declared casually. Chara felt a mixture of fear, awe, and annoyance as they prepared for their next attack.

"This is not Gensokyo. I am no longer bounded by the spellcard rules. Nonetheless I will stick by the process of it while I adhere to your world's rules as well."

Chara has no idea what the lady is rambling on but the voice seem to understand the significance.

"She's taking us too lightly."

"You better not underestimate me~ After all, I did kill your precious friend over there~"

There was no response from the lady. Chara thought they got to her but suddenly, their intuition flared as the voice began chanting the very same thing they felt.

"DANGEROUS. DANGEROUS. SHE'S DANGEROUS."

A wave of kunai, butterfly, and orb danmaku surrounded Chara and began hitting them without a pause. Without even checking for their health, they quickly pressed the item button only to find it crossed out with the word NULLITY written over it.

"Now, I can't let you do that. That's not how the spellcard system works." Yukari summoned a gap and effortlessly pulled out her frilly parasol. She then pointed the tip at Chara's health bar and the mercy option and like the item button, the same sign appeared in front of it as well. Chara began to panic as they tried again and again to summon the item menu or the mercy button to escape only for it not to work.

At one hp, the attacks stopped. Chara didn't know when it began but they felt tears forming in their eyes.

They looked up only to see the impending figure of the Border of Phantasm.

Out of fear and despair, Chara gripped their knife and attacked with all their might.

Yukari swatted them away like a fly using her fan.

「酷い目に遭う。」

Chara couldn't understand what she muttered but the voice in their head seemed to wince and cower a tiny bit.

With one last desperate attempt, Chara used the act button and pleaded for mercy.

* You try to talk the lady out of killing you but she made no response.

* Reality seems like it's breaking apart.

"Oh and, brat?"

Waves and waves of bullets pierced through Chara's soul as it breaks into two.

"That was for HIM."

A reload or two later and Chara realized that she doesn't follow the script. She adapts and has no patterns. 

Chara frowned at the thought as they begin to try and beat this cheating lady once again, for who knows how long. After the fifth time, Chara noticed that they weren't even hitting them no matter how hard they tried and simply stuck to dodging. The tenth try made Chara aware that the NULLITY in their health bar indicated that they can only take one hit before being forced to reload once more. Twenty more tries and Chara realized that she's completely random.

"She's manipulating the boundary of past and future. She remembers everything fully."

A stray butterfly almost hit Chara as they process what they just learned from the voice.

"She's copying your reloads. You cannot trick her like what you did with Sans."

Chara's face turned pale as they heard the voice's own conclusion. At the same time, they were hit with a blue kunai that strayed a bit too far from the pattern. Another stare at this... creature and Chara knows. They know that look, that calm and tranquil fury.

She's angry and bitter.

"Hmm, what was it that he always said at this point? Ahh, 'get duuuuunked on!'? Perhaps another reload and I might get it right."

"You should have been careful, child. Youkai will always remember those who anger them and they will hold grudges and deep resentment ."

Chara barely processed what the voice was saying, what a youkai is, before being forced once again to reload at the same stupid place that damn skeleton forced them to repeat as well.

And the battle begins, and Yukari will CHEAT at every opportunity until Chara/Frisk stops. It is an unwinnable situation for them. While they reset and go back, Yukari will mess with the boundary of past and future so it is a literal stale mate.

taDAH! I HAD SO MUCH FUN WITH THIS! *grits teeth* LIKE I WAS STREAMING THIS AND *headdeasks* IT WAS SUCH A GREAT EXPERIENCE! Seriously, I might recheck the drabble again as I am writing trhis at 4 am
